About Secondary School

The IGCSE programme is delivered over 2 years; Grade 9 and Grade 10 and we are proud to currently offer 19 IGCSE subjects. Students then start studying for the Cambridge AS Level in Grade 11 and can have the option to do the A level in Grade 13. Additional subjects include the mandatory Ministry of Education subjects; Arabic and Islamic Studies. Islamic Studies is compulsory for all Muslim students. Arabic for Non-Arabs is compulsory until Grade 9. In addition, we have mapped Moral Education into our Curriculum to develop students’ understanding of people from different nationalities and UAE values and principles. Apart from academic subjects we offer a range of extra-curricular activities, ranging from Sports to Fun Camps.

What Our Students Say

  • Wesgreen has helped me a lot throughout my academic years. Wesgreen offers exciting extracurricular activities such as WISMUN, the Business Fair, and the Science Fair. I served as the Assistant Director of IT for WISMUN, where I was able to experience a day in the life of an IT specialist. Additionally, Wesgreen promotes great campaigns such as the Wellbeing Committee and the Anti-Bullying Squad. I am proud to be a part of these campaigns, supporting fellow students and creating a happy and safe environment for learning. I am grateful for the opportunity to study at Wesgreen.

    Ahmed Eisa

  • Some of my best years and moments were experienced growing up at Wesgreen. From playing football on the field to laughing together when feeling overwhelmed by schoolwork, most of the time, the best memories are made during the simplest of moments, like sitting around in the common room and talking with each other. A sense of brotherhood was built upon the years of being together at Wesgreen, and that is what school life is all about. Having a good brotherhood amongst your peers is the most important aspect of high school life.

    Hasan Kaoud

  • I am beyond grateful for the amazing education and unforgettable memories that I have made at Wesgreen. I have made lifelong friends and built strong bonds with teachers, some of whom have been with me for several years. The many competitions and extracurricular activities that Wesgreen offers, such as the annual STEAM fair and WISMUN, have taught me the importance of hard work and determination. Wesgreen has helped me grow into the strong, independent, and compassionate leader that I am proud to be. I will forever be grateful for being a part of this remarkable institution.

    Ismail Majid

  • Wesgreen has truly polished my characteristics as a person, a student, and a leader. My time at Wesgreen has brought me much joy. Here, I have made lifelong friendships and created memories that will last a lifetime. The immense amount of patience and support from my teachers is what makes me feel confident, whether it be in my academics or outside of school, that future success is within my reach. The academic year 2022-2023 was truly filled with great experiences that I will cherish forever.

    Syed Shayaan Ahmed Hashmi

  • I joined Wesgreen in 2008, graduated in 2017 and I’m currently a final year Law student at Trinity College Dublin. My time at Wesgreen helped me really grow as a person. Besides offering a brilliant education, the staff placed a strong emphasis on leadership roles and extra-curricular activities that gave me many opportunities to enhance my interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills. My teachers were nothing but supportive especially in my final years when figuring out my career paths and navigating university applications. Without the help of my teachers I wouldn’t be where I am today. They truly want the best for their students. During my A levels I wanted to study subjects that were not usually offered. However, as soon as I expressed interest, accommodations were quickly made to ensure I studied the subjects I desired.

    Head Boy - 2016

  • I started my educational journey at Wesgreen International School in September 2014 and graduated in June 2019. I spent this past academic year studying for my A-Levels in order to further my studies in Dublin, Ireland, focusing on engineering. I feel the guidance and knowledge that my teachers provided have led to me achieving the results I need to attract offers from leading universities in Ireland. The pinnacle of my secondary schooling would undoubtedly be the various leadership roles I have served in alongside many accomplished students. My time at Wesgreen has shown me how the core values of the school, promotes equal opportunity for students to express the best version of themselves. A strong emphasis is made on both the academic and extra-curricular aspects of student development, with countless opportunities to shine in events such as science fairs, business fairs, debates and MUN conferences. As a member of Wesgreen’s alumni, I hope to contribute towards the progress of current students to the best of my ability; and encourage present students to reach out to ex-students for any guidance or advice they may need.

  • Wesgreen holds a very close place in my heart. I was challenged to develop and make decisions that I never thought I would be able to do with the support of my teachers. I participated in MUN conferences abroad, bake sales and more. There was always an opportunity to learn something apart from our regular academic work. Wesgreen promoted leadership roles and wanted every student to be involved. I feel like that motivation helped me improve my leadership skills. I am currently working as a student manager in my university’s computer department. I will be graduating in 2020/2021, and I owe it to the staff at Wesgreen International School for helping me realize that anything is possible when you put your mind to it. My favorite memory of Wesgreen was the small meetings that we used to have with Mr. Andy Cheung during form time. I could go on and on about the memories I have made, but I feel like the time I’ve spent in Wesgreen is a memory in itself.

They helped me understand more about myself and showed me what I am capable of. Wesgreen has forced me to evolve socially and mentally and has helped me become a better person.

  • Hard work, persistence, perseverance, and a tenacious attitude towards achieving success are a few of the many things the school expects of its student body. With students possessing a consistent DC-like rhythm, except a gradient with infinity as it’s valued; opportunity is profuse, and support is at one's fingertips. This is what lays the solid foundations for the infrastructural build of the community at Wesgreen International School. A breeding ground for well-rounded individuals is fueled by teachers who provide perpetually overflowing assistance whenever it is required. Simply put, "Work Insures Success" is what Wesgreen International School and its community strictly abide by.

    Khalil Ibrahim

  • I have had the honour to call Wesgreen my home for the last 10 years of my life and I would not have it any other way. Wesgreen is truly an inclusive environment where innovation sparks diversity. I will never forget the people I met, lessons I learned, tears I shed and the memories I made in the halls throughout my journey as a primary, middle and high school student. I cannot imagine my life outside of Wesgreen, but I know that I have been prepared for greatness. I will do my best to do my home proud.
