About Secondary School

The IGCSE programme is delivered over 2 years; Grade 9 and Grade 10 and we are proud to currently offer 19 IGCSE subjects. Students then start studying for the Cambridge AS Level in Grade 11 and can have the option to do the A level in Grade 13. Additional subjects include the mandatory Ministry of Education subjects; Arabic and Islamic Studies. Islamic Studies is compulsory for all Muslim students. Arabic for Non-Arabs is compulsory until Grade 9. In addition, we have mapped Moral Education into our Curriculum to develop students’ understanding of people from different nationalities and UAE values and principles. Apart from academic subjects we offer a range of extra-curricular activities, ranging from Sports to Fun Camps.

Students can chart their own path by assessing their own learning and challenging themselves by choosing activities that caters for their ability. GEMS Wesgreen, takes pride in involving critical thinking as part of their lessons across all age groups, thus, preparing students to make good well-informed decisions across all aspects of life.

What Our Students Say

  • I joined Wesgreen in 2008, graduated in 2017 and I’m currently a final year Law student at Trinity College Dublin. My time at Wesgreen helped me really grow as a person. Besides offering a brilliant education, the staff placed a strong emphasis on leadership roles and extra-curricular activities that gave me many opportunities to enhance my interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills. My teachers were nothing but supportive especially in my final years when figuring out my career paths and navigating university applications. Without the help of my teachers I wouldn’t be where I am today. They truly want the best for their students. During my A levels I wanted to study subjects that were not usually offered. However, as soon as I expressed interest, accommodations were quickly made to ensure I studied the subjects I desired.

    Head Boy - 2016

  • I started my educational journey at Wesgreen International School in September 2014 and graduated in June 2019. I spent this past academic year studying for my A-Levels in order to take up on studying Engineering in Dublin, September 2020. I feel the guidance and knowledge my teachers provided have led to me achieving the results I need to attract offers from leading universities in Ireland. The pinnacle of my secondary schooling would undoubtedly be the various leadership roles I have served in, alongside many accomplished students, to shape up the performance of our student body to a remarkable standard. My time at Wesgreen has shown me how the core values this school abides by, ensures that every student has an equal opportunity to express the best version of themselves. A strong emphasis is made on both the academic and extra-curricular segments of a student’s education, with countless opportunities to shine at Science Fairs, Business Fairs, Debates and MUN Conferences - not to forget the accredited Cambridge qualifications too. As a member of Wesgreen’s Alumni, I hope to contribute towards the progress of current students to the best of my ability; and encourage present students to reach out to ex-students for any guidance or advice they may need.

    Head Boy academic year 2018/2019

  • Wesgreen holds a very close place in my heart. While at Wesgreen I was challenged to develop and make decisions that I never thought I would be able to do with the support of my teachers. I participated in MUN conferences abroad, bake sales organized by Mr. Jehangir and more. There was always an opportunity to learn something apart from our regular academic work. Wesgreen promoted leadership roles and wanted every student to be involved, I feel like that motivation helped me improve my leadership skills. I am currently working as a student manager in my university’s computer department. I will be graduating in 2020/2021, and I owe it to the staff at Wesgreen International School for helping me realize that anything is possible when you put your mind to it. My favorite memory of Wesgreen was the small meetings that we used to have with Mr. Andy Cheung during form time. I could go on and on about the memories I have made, but I feel like the time I’ve spent in Wesgreen is a memory in itself.

  • Ever since I first came to Wesgreen International School, I have been presented with countless opportunities that force me to go outside of my comfort zone and develop as a person. They help me understand more about myself and show me what I am capable of. Wesgreen has forced me to evolve socially and mentally and has made me a better person.

    Farhan Ali Mir

  • Hard work, persistence, perseverance, and the tenacious attitude towards achieving success are a few of the many things the school expects of its student body. With students possessing a consistent DC-like rhythm, except a gradient with infinity as it's valued; opportunity is profuse, and support is at one's fingertips. This is what lays the solid foundations to the infrastructural build of the community at Wesgreen International School. A breeding ground for well-rounded individuals is fueled by teachers who provide perpetually overflowing assistance whenever it is required. Simply put, "Work Insures Success" is what Wesgreen International School and its community strictly abide by.

    Khalil Ibrahim

  • Wesgreen International School is where I found my voice and a community on which I could depend for support. My mentors and peers challenged me to aim for the stars and surpass my own goals. We found joy in supporting one another and challenging each other to succeed in all aspects of school life.

    Yahia Ayman

  • I have had the honour to call Wesgreen my home for the last 10 years of my life and I would not have it any other way. Wesgreen is truly an inclusive environment where innovation sparks diversity. I will never forget the people I met, lessons I learned, tears I shed and the memories I made in the halls throughout my journey as a primary, middle and high school student. I cannot imagine my life outside of Wesgreen, but I know that I have been prepared for greatness. I will do my best to do my home proud.
