  • Adverts/leaflets/posters
  • Play scripts

Term 3

Vocabulary, grammar and Punctuation

  • Possessive apostrophes and contractions
  • Formal and informal language
  • Facts Vs opinions
  • Brackets, dashes and commas
  • Adverbs showing possibility and modal verbs

Writing

  • Newspaper report
  • Formal/informal letter

Reading comprehension

Fiction and Non-Fiction

  • Various fiction and non-fiction passages will be provided for children to respond to.

Literature

Assessments:

The final grade for the course will be calculated based on multiple forms of formal and informal assessments including CAT 4 and GL Assessments, these will be used to gain knowledge about a student’s level of understanding.  Assessments will be in the areas of Grammar, Spelling, Comprehension, Composition and Speaking and Listening.

Formal Assessment test dates will be posted on the communicator.
